11/02/09 Evening Edition
November 2, 2009 by Jason.
Yesterday and today have been busy for Jen and I, but very quiet and stable for the girls. They continue to make small changes to their settings day to day, but overall, we have been impressed by their continued stability. It has been 8 days, and I feel like they are getting bigger. Jen was very excited to be seeing the girls today after having fevers over the weekend. Unfortunately, while we were walking to the NICU, she felt a strong tightness in her chest. They sent us up to Labor & Delivery to get checked out and eventually gave her a CT scan on her lungs. It turns out she is not filling the bottom of her left lung like she should. She has a device that will help her practice deep breathing and it should clear up soon. Sometime in the next 24 hours, the girls will have the lines going into their umbilical veins disconnected and a new PICC line installed. This is another important step and a good sign of progress. We will be staying another night at Ronald McDonald house and then visiting the girls in the morning. Tomorrow around lunch, we will head home for a little rest and then come back on Wednesday.
