Today has been quiet. Juliana has sustained her blood pressure well, averaging between 45-50. This is a little higher than her gestational age would warrant, but is within acceptable range. She has been off of her dopamine since last night at 9PM so she is sustaining it on her own. We are hoping she can keep it up so they can begin gavage feedings soon, the next big event we are looking forward to. She will be getting some blood products this afternoon. She is still on fentanyl and a 4-hour schedule of Ativan, both to keep her quiet and sedated. She likes to kick and move around a little too much which can cause her saturation levels to drop. Her oscillator has been weaned, though I don’t have the exact numbers in memory. Overall, it has been a really boring day, just the way we like it.

  4. hi. i’m wil mclean’s fiance, he shared your blog and story with me and we have been praying for you all. i know you don’t know me, but wil and i wanted you to know that we are willing to help you in any way possible. i know asking someone to do your laundry, tidy up your house, bring you food, or hold your hand in the hospital is not easy to do, but please know that we are here and we’ll help however we can. we both live in columbia, so we’re close to baltimore (but can help in h’town too). we’ll be happy to bring you something to eat, or walk with you around the block, or just give hugs. and we’ll keep praying. just wanted you to know we’re here if you need anything.

  5. Jason and Jen,
I was so sorry to read of Zoe’s passing, but praising God since He knows who she is and will keep her until you can see her again. Please know our hearts ache for you and you all are in our prayers (many people’s prayers!). I’m loving to hear how Juliana is developing more and more. What a miracle! So many staff in NICU knowing just what to do and when to do it, and sometimes are even friendly in the midst of anxiety. LOVE that. 🙂 Thank you so much for the updates and know that lil’ one is lifted daily by so many. And of course her family, too.

  6. Boring – Bring on the boring. Yay! What a little fighter she is. I’m so happy to hear your news today.

Thanks for taking the time to send these updates. I feel so helpless, but it seems that reading the updates allows me to at least know exactly what to pray for!

    Love, Cathy

  7. Praise God for boring, quiet days!! May there be many more of those! We are still constantly thinking of you and praying for you and Juliana.

  8. Boring is good! I’m glad to hear that she is doing well. We will continue praying. Hang in there and keep leaning on God. He will see you through. Take care!

  9. Hooray for boring!!! 🙂 May all her remaining days in the hospital be boring ones before the fun of being home begins! We’re still praying!
