Thank you

Hello Everyone. This is Jen. I haven’t been on the internet much, but Jason reads me every comment from each of you. We may never have an opportunity to reply individually to each comment, but I wanted you to know that you all have given us so much encouragement. Your prayers and support mean so much to us, and we feel uplifted with every comment we read. We have just been overwhelmed with the support from our family who has been here to help us through this, our dear friends who have traveled long distances to be here, and our church/school community for the outpouring of love and food and housecleaning, etc. Those of you at a distance have covered us with your prayers and I believe that God is answering them.

To Jennifer C and all my students: your love and prayers and cards mean so much to me. I miss you each. Keep praying for the babies!

To Monica and others who have shared your personal stories: thank you for the encouragement. You have given us hope and we’re clinging to it.

Although we are devastated by the loss of Eden, we continue to praise God for each day of life that He gives Juliana and Zoe. They are truly miracle babies and it is our wish that their lives will be continued testaments to the power and love of God. Please continue to uplift them in your prayers. I know that He has big plans for their lives. I can’t wait for the time when all of you can meet them and hold them.

You all have been an example to us of the true meaning of church. Even though we are separated by so many miles, we are all a part of a beautiful community of fellowship and prayer. We humbly thank you for the love and friendship you’ve shown us. We are eternally grateful and we love you all.

  1. Jennifer and Jason: Jennifer will remember me from the scrabble games at Aunt Margaret’s house in Collegedale. I am Susie, your dad’s cousin from his Aunt Rita. I have been following your incredible story and have been praying for you all so very much. I cannot begin to imagine the pain, but I can share in the wonder of creating new life; I have a daughter and her birth, albeit 28 years ago, is like it was yesterday. Know that you are in my heart, all of you, and in my prayers. God does answer prayer; He worked a miracle in my life and I know He will in Juliana’s and Zoe’s. He loves children! Much love to you each,

  2. I am so glad that you guys are all doing well. I have had my church and everyone else I know praying for you guys and being a mom myself, I am feeling your loss almost as if it is my own. God has truly been amazing and your two beautiful girls are a constant reminder of that, I am sure. We are continuing to pray for you and hope wish you (Jen) a speedy recovery.

May God continue to be with you and your whole family!

  3. My family and I continue to think of you and the girls often. Had to giggle at the diaper change the other night – it must have been great! I hope the girls keep up the good work of getting stronger. Take care of yourself too, Jen! Love and hugs,

  4. Jennifer and Jason,

You don’t know me, but through the prayer requests of friends and their friends, I’ve heard your story.

Two years ago, I had a daughter born at 1 lb. 13 oz. and 28 weeks gestation. Your story brings back so many memories, the ups and the downs of each moment and day.

Juliana and Zoe sound like they are doing great, fighting hard! It is so amazing to see how intricately God created each of us, at such a young age.

I do pray that you have been able to hold your girls, even for a short time each day. They are truly so precious, and you are in my thoughts and prayers every day.

  5. Dear Payne Family,

I have been praying for you. I know that you will make wonderful parents. The babies are beautiful (just like their parents). There are a lot of people at Andrews University who are thinking about you and praying for you. I know that I can’t even begin to imagine all the sorrows and joys you are going through, but I do know that God is always there. Your letter and encouragement comforted me when I was grieving the loss of my grandma and dog, I hope this letter brings some encouragement to you. I love the names that you picked for your daughters. I think about Zoe and Juliana daily.
PS thanks for all the English help, my last essay scored the highest in my honors class (1st time this year!)

  6. Hi Mrs. Payne,

I just wanted to let you know that I am praying for you & Jason and your amazing new blessings. May God continue to comfort you as grieve the loss of Eden and give you the strength and courage to fight for Zoe and Juliana as they fight for themselves.

    God bless your whole family,

  7. Jason and Jennifer! I think of you all the time. I wish I could help. I’m here if you need me for anything. Even a bad knock-knock joke. My mom and dad are thinking of you as well and wish you all the best and are praying for you.
    Love and peace,
    Susie (and Mike too!)

  8. GLAA continues to lift up your family in prayer. Each day in my classes we pray for you and if I forget, at least one student asks about how the girls are doing.

  9. Mrs. Payne,
I just wanted to let you know that I’m praying for you and that I miss you very much.
