A Fighter
Thank you all for your comments. Jen and I have read every single one and have taken great strength. Tonight I spent an hour in the NICU and met a couple who has twin boys set up next to Juliana. They are 10 weeks old, but were also born at 24 weeks under similar circumstances. Their one son has grade 3/4 hemorrhaging. Encouragement and love just poured out of them as they recounted a similar situation with their son as to what Zoe is experiencing right now. They said there will be many terrifying moments to come, but not to lose faith in the strength andĀ resilienceĀ of Zoe and to each other. Zoe will be a fighter.

Jason and Jen - praise God that you’ve met someone to give you strength and hope. Pray with each other for each other. We’ll do the same! Congratulations to you guys, and hang on! Hugs all around.

Jen and Jason~
I’m so glad you’ve had some encouragement. Seth and I are praying for you, my students are praying for you, and my family is praying for you. Keep holding on and if there is anything Seth and I can do, let us know. I’d be happy to make meals for your visiting family or whatever. We love you guys

I will pray every hour on the hour today for both girlies. As for little Zoe, I know you both and she couldn’t have been given better parents. She is so blessed to have both of you. Praise the Lord that couple is there.

Hey Guys I was up early as you can see cleaning and praying for your girls and a song came on my IPod and I know Jen is very musical so I wanted to share it. I am sure you know the song Might to Save. The girl who wrote did so after her husband was diagnosed with a brain tumor and he is in remission now…but just wanted to remind you of the words…
Everyone needs compassion,
Love that’s never failing;
Let mercy fall on me.
Everyone needs forgiveness,
The kindness of a Saviour;
The Hope of nations.
Saviour, He can move the mountains,
My God is Mighty to save,
He is Mighty to save.
Forever, Author of salvation,
He rose and conquered the grave,
Jesus conquered the grave.
So take me as You find me,
All my fears and failures,
Fill my life again.
I give my life to follow
Everything I believe in,
Now I surrender.
My Saviour, He can move the mountains,
My God is Mighty to save,
He is Mighty to save.
Forever, Author of salvation,
He rose and conquered the grave,
Jesus conquered the grave.
Shine your light and let the whole world see,
We’re singing for the glory of the risen King…Jesus (x2)
My Saviour, He can move the mountains,
My God is Mighty to save,
He is Mighty to save.
Forever, Author of salvation,
He rose and conquered the grave,
Jesus conquered the grave.
My Saviour, you can move the mountains,
You are mighty to save,
You are mighty to save.
Forever, Author of Salvation,
You rose and conquered the grave,
Yes you conquered the grave
Love you all!

I am so thankful that you have such support close by. It must be so comforting to have other parents there who know the realities of what you’re going through.
If you need *anything* close to home (I’m only 5 minutes away!) please don’t hesitate to ask. I’m certain you don’t have time to respond to each comment individually but if there is anything specific please know that I’m here!!!

Jen and Jason…you don’t know me -but I believe you know my hubby Stacey Jack McClarty…and I know your loving sister Megan…I am soooo sorry for what you are being faced with. My heart breaks for your family and I pray that things will take a turn for the light. As I’ve told Megan, the next little while will be very difficult but YOU WILL GET THROUGH it…the NICU road is long and rollarcoaster-like and as I’m sure the nurses have told you…rejoice in the successes - no matter now small they can seem. those nurses and doctors really do know what they are doing - I’m sorry to dump all this unsolicited advice on you (especially seeing as we don’t know one another - haha) but I need for you to know that their care works!! I’m sitting here in my living room staring at my miracle…he’s 10 months old now and babbling and sitting, and trying to crawl and walk…It really really really really can and does work - focus on that in the days that are coming when it will seem that hope is lost. We will continue to pray for your enitre family and please feel free to call or email if you need someone to talk to that is only recently out of a very similar situation, Susan

Oh, Jen and Jason, I’m so sorry you lost little Eden. We are praying for you often during the day and lots of our friends are praying too. Thank you so much for all the detailed information on your website–it helps us feel like we are there with you and gives us specific things to pray for. May God hold little Juliana and Zoe is His tender, healing hands today; may He give special wisdom to the doctors nad nurses; may you feel His strong, loving arms around you, comforting and supporting you; may you feel the love from your friends all around the world who are constantly uplifting you in prayer. We love you and will continue to beseech God on your behalf. Aunt Shirley and Uncle Bob.

Hi J&J,
My heart is with you. Everything the other NICU parents have said above is true. It’s like a rollercoater in the dark… you never know which direction you’re going. I’m so glad you’ve found someone closeby who’s on a similar journey. You and your girls are loved. Heaven is being bombarded with prayers for you.

I heard last night that you lost baby Eden, and my heart fell. I cannot wait for Heaven, where no more of this will happen, and where Eden will be brought back to your arms whole and healthy. What an amazing reunion day that will be! We are praying for your whole family, for strength and peace during this chaotic time you’re going through, and for healing for Zoe and Juliana.

I am a friend of Stephanie Vohwinkel and wanted to say that I am praying for you! This is an undeniable heart wrenching life situation for you and your girls. I am glad you are able to get support from fellow NICU parents - that is so important. Another online community you might be interested is www.twinstuff.com/forum there are forums on there for NICU situations as well as “life after loss”. This group is very supportive and you might find it useful as you make sense of it all. I will pray that God will send you the comfort and strength that you need!

We are praying for you constantly. Know that there are hundreds if not thousands of people around the world doing the same; lifting you up to give you and the girls added strength, courage, peace, and hope for the future.
